Attract Magazine and Westfield Century City have worked in tandem to curate an outdoor shopping experience like no other. The section features a gathering of small businesses owned by women, and offers their small boutique brands a chance to share their vision with a larger audience. This special shopping extravaganza began on November 27th and will continue through December 27, 2020.

Amidst the current lockdown, this venue is being held at the outdoor section of the Westfield Century City and follows all current Covid-19 safety procedures.

What inspired the brand?

“MAE is a ready-to-wear clothing brand that is dedicated to the modern woman. My line represents classic elegance that is tailored to fit a body with curves! MAE is inspired by my late grandmother Mae Smith who continues to inspire me everyday.”

What inspired your brand?

“I have always felt passionate about living a non-toxic, high vibrational life and I wanted to be able to provide that for others. Through our products I hope that people can treat themselves to a moment of self care. Whether that is lighting a candle during their morning coffee, or taking a bath with our bath bomb and body scrub. We all deserve to give ourselves, even if for a small moment, some time to focus on the present moment and breathe. I believe those small moments for ourselves can shift our whole day.”

What inspired you to start your brand?

“My mother inspired me.  My mom had a potluck on her job and asked me to bake chocolate chip walnut cookies, and she came home with paid orders. That’s when the idea of a cookie business sparked. I wanted to continue making tasty cookies for the world to enjoy.”

What do you want others to know about your brand? 

I want people to know that the brand is representing men with confidence. I created a pomade to smell like men’s perfume. Also it is 95% organic which is safe for their hair. This product line is created for all hair types meaning men with thick, thin, corse, curly or straight hair. The Mr Mint Shampoo and Conditioner/Shave Cream has Mint and Tea Tree Oil which is good for the scalp and balances sebaceous glands. Meaning this will balance the scalp so that it’s not oily and not dry but balanced.

Most men product lines are created by men, however I wanted to be a woman that can provide a great product for men that is not only good for the hair but skin as well. This brand has been an amazing journey to create and I am living proof that if you put your mind, soul and energy into something, anything is possible!

What inspired your brand creation?

My life has inspired me to build a brand where women feel welcome to come as they are, wear all the hats or no hats, dress up or down, be comfortable or extravagant and still feel like themselves. I have had so many hardships and highlights in my life and over time I have realized that when I surround myself with the people and products that make me feel my true sense of self I am the happiest. I want to be that brand for my customers.
